I take a whole-istic approach to breastfeeding and postpartum in order to foster maternal confidence and feeding competence.
I became a NICU nurse in 2007 and loved caring for the tiniest babies until I struggled to breastfeed my own. I pivoted away from medicine and toward matrescence when I became a board certified lactation consultant in 2016. I'm passionate about prenatal education, postpartum support, and collaborative care.

my practice philosophy in a nutshell:
Breastfeeding support should not be one-size-fits-all, so I strive to find the picture within the picture that helps parents put together the puzzle pieces of their baby's behaviors and the symptoms mom has picked up on. I hope that through validating a mother's intuition and working alongside her to overcome breastfeeding challenges, she leaves our consults feeling encouraged and empowered to take the next steps forward. I truly believe that a mom who is active and involved in her plan of care is the happiest, and happy moms are most prepared to raise a baby in the healthiest emotional and physical environment.
when i'm not practicing:
I live just outside of Omaha in a small town with my husband and three young children. When I'm not working with new moms, you can find me homeschooling my older two kids, baking, gardening, reading novels, and leading our local Wild + Free hiking group. You can hear more about what I'm loving and learning on the Milk + Motherhood podcast where we talk about breastfeeding, postpartum, and how the lessons we learn in this season help us grow into the mothers we long to be.
